I took my love upon a roller coast, said I'd hold her close

Wrote her love songs but couldn't write her hopeful prose
Every poem ending with a look at all these broken bones
Mother goose said she's flying with the hopeless crows

Made a couple tracks drove em passed a riverbed
And drowned in the ocean near the hamptons out past riverhead

Made a choice for us but then I couldn't live in debt
I owed her the world but I took her world and slit it's neck
I didn't wanna choke but still I couldn't give us breath
And when I left I just walked us right into our death

Mourned for years so I guess it's time to date again
But the internets an ugly place to try and make a friend
Swiping right where every night it's like we play pretend
And try to act like we ain't a mess and in a state of zen
We have our lists of what we want and we won't break or bend
Until we find that perfect little piece that fits and makes us blend
Perfect height perfect smile at least an eight to ten
And won't settle for nothing less than better than a naked gem
Turning stones I found a couple shining bright for me
Took em out for drinks bought em dinners living wild and free
Making love we'd adventure through the island breeze
And spend our afternoons drenched in sun out at Lido beach
Feeling safe again we made a little pile for three
Where we'd roll around go to town and just smile in skeet
But then I woke up and they told me it was time to leave
I was just a play thing and they walked off waving bye to me
